Savannah, GA Night The old part of town isn't off limits, but few people wander into the civil war era cemetary simply because of the atmosphere. During the day, the ancient live oaks seem tranquil and calming, but in the cover of night, the moss that swayed in the breeze apears like so many hands reaching out at those who stray into their domain. To call the scene unnerving is an understatment, and yet one person was entirely at ease within the maze of wrought iron and slate tombs. Neil Tack strolled cassually along the cobblestone path, fading into the darkness in the gaps between the street lanterns. His destination was not within the gates of the graveyard, however. It was merely a shortcut. As he stepped out onto the street, he went right along with the flow of pedestrian traffic, as if he were just another one of them. Not far from the old crypt, a tavern lit up the streets with the glow of its flourescent signs. Neil opened the door and descended the few steps into the main bar. He looked to the right, and went through a narrow hall that led down another few steps, and into a dimly lit , round room. Seated in the room were about two dozen people, and it became obvious that most, if not all of the people in room were users, of some kind. "Are you the guy we're waiting for? " Said a lanky man with slit pupils. "That depends, who are you waiting for?" Neil replied. The reptile man sighed. "We've been waiting for the fellow who aranged this little get together. But hes nearly an hour late, it looks like, and we're all pretty much ready to start without him." "Sounds good to me," said Neil, sitting down. "So, to be specifiic, what are we, exactly, here for?" A young woman gave Neil a confused look. "Are you somekind of idiot? Its the same thing we've been trying to do for weeks. This is a revoloution meeting; you were invited, right?" "Oh, of course, here it is." Neil said, nodding, as he pulled out a piece of paper with several stange symbols and a signiture. "Well okay," The woman continued. "If this is your first time, let me give you a quick run through of what we're about. The group is all about trying to have users accepted in society, and eventually the release of all civilians from the city walls. We don't use names, we don't write anything except for the invites, and we never publicly discuss any of this stuff. So, do we have any other new members?" Attachments:

Claire picked at some dirt between her fingernails. For reasons she wasn't entirely sure of, although it was probably due to her paranoia about that man falling her, she was back in a town. Lots of concrete and potted plants with the occasional free standing tree crying out in pain from the suppression of it's roots. She didn't blame humans for that they did to plants. This was the balance of nature. That didn't mean she had to always hang around it. The tall girl was sitting cross-legged on a bench in a small park. It was dark out now and she began to make plans as to how she was going to get out of the damn city without anyone noticing without going to way she came. Backtracking for days to go around and avoid military patrols wasn't her exact idea of fun.
Just as she was about to stand she felt the bench dip, creaking as someone sat on the bench beside her. "Don't shout." a disembodied voice said. Claire looked over towards the direction it had come from but found she was looking into air. Am i finally loosing it... she wondered briefly. "I'm like you. Gifted and not wanted. Don't bother looking around for me, you won't find me. I mean you no harm and I fear I might have startled you before. Luckily it got you into the city." Claire's eyes widened slightly and she inhaled sharply. "Don't look at my voice! Act natural!" the voice chastised. Her entire posture had stiffened and although her face was set in a grim frown she turned her head to look straight. "I was following you outside of town, i know what you can do. But as i said, i mean you no harm. There are more people like us in the city. All of them are equally gifted as you and i, and equally unwanted. We want to change that. If you are interested." the bench creaked again and shifted. A folded up piece of paper floated on the chilled southern breeze. Clarie snatched at it before it could hit the ground. As she started to unfold it. "Then find us and don't let anyone else." On one side were a series of strange symbols and a scrawled signature. On the flip side were a list of directions.
---
Claire shifted slightly uncomfortable in her seat. This really wasn't her kind of thing. She had come out of sheer curiosity more than any kind of real interest. Her dark eyes shifted from the man who had just entered to the people already int he room as they exchanged words. Her eyes stopped on the woman as she explained the basis behind their little group. It took all of Claire's willpower not to roll her eyes. Pretty words.
When the woman asked if there were any other new members Claire raised an eyebrow and looked around. There was hardly even twenty people in the room. Staring off at no one in particular she spoke with a dull uninterested voice. "Excuse my cander. But. If you've been doing this for weeks, wouldn't you recognize new faces. There can't be more than twenty, even fifteen people in this room. Hardly such a mass that a new face would go by unnoticed" she laughed a little to herself "Yet for being so interested in newcomers, i've managed to sit here without much attention at all."
I'm surprised they haven't done any kind of check to see if the people here were in fact invited before now. Aren't these people worried about getting caught. Maybe i shouldn't have come... Claire's inner monologue stayed true to her skeptic nature and she slouched down in her seat a little, her posture displaying obvious discomfort.

Neil was fairly impressed with how many people had shown up. He never expected more than five or six, but aparently this was the kind of group that people were looking to join. Several weeks ago, he had brought a few users he met to the tavern and felt their yearning for revolution. Sensing it as an oppurtunity for his unique brand of entertainment, he told the original members to tell their user friends to come in a few days. After he gave them time to do so, he removed the original users from the world of the living. At the next meeting, Neil acted subserviant to the new friends, informing them that the organizer of the event was very private, and would show up eventually.
Of course the mastermind played through the whole thing extremely smoothly, making sure everyone felt calm in the situation. Realizing he had zoned out, he felt he should contribute, so he adressed the newest member's concerns. "There's no need for concern regarding security, if thats what you are implying. Among us, we have telepaths, empaths, and I believe our reptilian friend here can sense fear, right?" Neil was immediately given dirty looks by most in attendance. "...I'm sorry, I genuinely believed you could do that. Anywho, The point is that if a military dude was here, we would know, and so far, its just us freaks. I mean that as a term of endearment."
"Yes, I would have been more polite, but thats an accurate description of our arangement here," Said a man who Neil guessed was a pyrokinetic. Spiky red hair was all it took to jump to this conclusion. " So picking up from last time, we were talking about ways to get the city limits expanded, since its more likely they'll be willing to make small changes than sudden ones." The woman next to Neil scoffed at the idea. He couldn't guess make a good guess regarding her ability, other than an unusual aura that he hadn't seen before. "Oh yeah, lets talk to them, because these punks resond so well to diplomacy. Its been tried, and anyone who publicly objects gets taken away by the gestapo. If we're not willing to fight back, than we might as well give up altogether."
Neil liked the way this was going.

Clarie kept her gaze on he man across from her as he explained that they were perfectly secure in the room. For being a newcomer like herself he certainly knew quite a bit. Maybe he was a telepath. As the conversation shifted she looked around at those talking. "Expanding city limits, seemed kinda trivial." She thought to herself. Her musing were interuppted by a woman scoffing.
She listened to the woman's complaints and raised an eyebrow. "Oh? You are suggesting, what? Force. I thought one of your agendas was to get the general public to accept Users." A sarcastic smile slipped across her lips "Wait, sorry i forgot. People usually love it when you attack them. Violence is completely the way to go. They will totally listen then." she dug her hands into the pockets of her pants. "If you really want peace you can't be the one to start the war."She murmured mostly to herself.

"The war has already started," growled the reptile man. " Have you heard about that lunatic out in California? To me, he represents what we must not become. I want freedom as much as anyone, but there are lines that I won't cross. Thats why I won't support any plans of violence."
Neil nodded. "Well frankly, we couldn't fight them if we wanted to. It doesn't matter if we can fly and shoot lasers and smash boulders; most of us are not bulletproof. And you better believe they have ways of dealing with folks who are."
The woman from earlier, whose aura had slightly retreated, spoke up again."I know, and I wasn't suggesting going outside and killing the military, but what do we do? We haven't come up with any real answers the whole time we've been coming here. We aren't politicians, or soldiers, but it seems like it wouldn't help even if we were. We clearly can't fight them, and anyone who objects peacefully still gets taken away. It just seems hopeless now." Neil noted that her aura must be connected to her emotions. He wondered if only he could see it, and if it meant that she too was an empath. It was a thought that somewhat concerned him, but he decided it wasn't an immediate worry.
