Personality: Claire is quick to talk and nearly always sarcastic. Having an opinion on nearly everything she is ready to give it with maybe a few snide remarks depending on her feelings about the person she is talking to. She isn’t a mean person, and is actually rather kind, just comes off a little hotheaded when people get her annoyed. Unlike her twin, James, she tends to be rather skeptical of people’s intentions and generally will not trust what can’t see or doesn’t already know.

Physical Description:Claire is taller than average but not extremely tall. She looks slightly taller than she is thanks to her long legs which give the illusion of height; to her ever living disdain since it’s hard to find pants that fit her tiny waist and long legs. She has light brown hair with even lighter brown natural highlights. Her eyes are a pleasant brown color with flecks of hazel.

Powers & Abilities: Claire has the ability to control and alter plant cells.
First part of her power is the ability to control the movement of plants. Since she has control over their cells, she can create more cells rapidly causing plants to grow far past their usual size. She can also control the movement of the plant by altering it’s genetic code a bit. Plants have forms of natural movement and she jut tampers with that to make them do what she wants.
Secondly, she can also control the genetic code to make different species of plants. Cross breeding flowers and other types of plants for either aesthetic purposes or other more practical purposes; like mixing a Virginia creeper with a strong vine, so that the vine grows to have strength and flexibility.
Thirdly, she can move her conscious mind through the plants. This requires much more effort and puts her at greater risk since if anything happened to the plant she wouldn’t be able to get back to her body and her body is left defenseless. She hardly uses this since she doesn’t have much of a use for it, but she is able to do it.
Weakness:
Physical: Claire isn’t particular strong and useless in a fight if unable to use her powers. Since she has been on the track team since she was a little girl she is a good runner and can outrun most people unless they are also an experienced runner. She is also extremely susceptible to extreme temperatures, hot or cold. She dehydrates very quickly in hot weather and gets extremely lethartic in cold weather.
Mental: Claire isn’t very trusting of people mostly because her twin is too trusting. People tend to take advantage of those who trust to readily and so she decided a while back that one of them had be a skeptic and she knew James wasn’t going to.
Power-wise: She has to have a seed or some kind of plant nearby for her power to work since she can’t make something out of nothing and extensive use of her power leaves her weak and exhausted. Her plants suffer in extreme temperatures; hot or cold.
State of Control/Rules: She is pretty adept with them but always willing to try and get even better and learn new things she can do. She isn’t power hungry, but wants to know the full extent of her abilities. Her powers won't work if there is not kind of vegetation around. While she can easily heal plant she can't create water or nutrients, only speed up the rate at which they are absorbed.
Reason You Choose Your Power: It’s a good match for James and he’s her twin so it made sense that their powers had at least something in common with each other.

Growing up ~ Ages 0-17
Claire grew up with a loving and adoring family. The earliest devastating event was the death of her father, but she was so young at the time she only feels a distant remorse at never having the chance to get to know him. Her mother was forced to work most of the time to support the family and so Claire and her twin were left to the care of their older brother, Oliver and Grandfather, Robert. While her twin grew very close to Robert, seeing him as a father figure Claire spent most of her time out with friends, seemingly desperate for female companionship. She had three close friends, Amy, Elizabeth and Lacey and they all went to the same high school together, along with her twin, James. Amy was a year older and so she didn’t get to be in a lot of the same classes as the others but Claire and her were on the track team together.
When she wasn’t at track practice or going shopping with her friends she was home with her brother. Despite her spend a lot of her time with “the girls” she was very close to her twin and enjoyed spending her free time at home with him. While they were riding home from school on evening, her in the back of the pickup truck, they hit a speed bump which sent her flying from the car and slicing her head open on a pavement. She doesn’t remember much besides feeling light headed and her brothers’ worried face as he held his hand over the wound waiting for the paramedics. As they arrived though, she found that the wound on her head had been healed over. She couldn’t explain what had happened and so she took the fine without complaint and never told anyone what had happened.
Even with him carefully hiding his ability while she was at one of his football games she watched with the rest of the crowd as her brother healed one of the players leg which had previously been broken. Her mind raced with fear and pride as the crowd showed mixed reactions to the event. She was proud that her brother had such a gift and fear that his revealing it meant he was going to be taken away from her. As the game ended and she rushed from the stands to go find James she found him struggling with a man she didn’t recognize. Before she could help him though she was grabbed used as blackmail to get her brother to cooperate. She struggled against her captures as James held out his hands to allow himself to be taken away. Much to her surprise, the man fell down twitching before dying on the ground in front of them. For fear that more people would be coming after him he took her with him to a friend’s house so they could lay low. After a little while they deemed the situation safe to finally head back to their house only to find that their beloved mother and grandfather was dead. They took shelter in their grandfather’s house that night and when she woke up, James was gone.

After the death of her guardians and the loss of her twin Claire stayed with Oliver for a little while in a small apartment. Neither one of them wanted to stay in the house after what had happened there. Oliver held his job and Claire dropped out of high school and started to work for a local florist. At first she was just a delivery girl but when the owner saw she had an eye for flower and arrangements he put her working in the shop with cutting and arranging the flowers. Claire started to spend most of her time there. It was a new hobby that she found she enjoyed since it took her mind off her troubles. While she worked she didn’t think about her mother, she didn’t think about where James was all she thought about was the plants she was working with.
After spending a year working in the shop she started to notice that the plants were reacting to her. It was subtle but the plants would grow faster and bigger at what would seem just a thought from her. Remembering what happened with her brother she got scared and told the shop owner she had to quit. A few days later he came to her apartment telling her that all the plants had died. He accused her of poisoning them to try and run him out of business. She tried to explain to him that she had nothing to do with that but he wouldn’t listen. He left angrily swearing that he would have her and her brother locked up.
Claire panicked. She called Oliver several times to try and tell him what had happened but she always got his answering machine. Instead of waiting for him to get home she packed a small bag and left a note for him. She figured that if she was gone the man wouldn’t bother her brother. Not bothering to take a car she took off with a small pack into the woods not entirely sure of where she was going.
Running and learning. ~ ages 21-26
While traveling she started to experiment a bit with her “gift” she found that her fears had been true. Her path took her through the woods and as she went she slowly began to reach out, using her new found ability to cover her tracks and help her traverse the more dense parts of the forest. She relished in this new power mostly because she hoped it would help her in her travels looking for her brother.
Since most of the larger cites were heavily guarded she keep to the outskirts of the towns, staying mostly in the forests when she could and stealing clothing from abandoned houses along the way. The fact that she has to scavenge for the clothing annoys her since she is used to the fashionable closet she left behind. Living in the forests isn’t an issue for her although she developed and unusual habit of talking to the plants as if they were people and they could respond to her.
The woods gave her shelter, protection and companionship. While on her own she practiced her ability. She quickly discovered that she could alter the DNA in the plant cells created either entirely new species of plants, or just enhancing the aspects of the already existing species.
Current
She is looking for her brother mostly so she can yell at him for leaving her and out of concern for where he is although she refuses to consider the fact that he might be dead or captured.
