Tuesday, November Fourth0700 hours...ishThe young man stood still before his full length mirror trying to find any change in himself that he would assume to be there, it had been five years since they had arrived in the former prison and he could find no flaws. Joshua's eyes were still of deepest green jade and his body still made for sin as he liked to say, his attention shifted to the top of his dresser where his ring laid "Five years huh? He's so lucky i don't have a single wrinkle or grey hair." With a smirk he slipped the ring on his finger and exited the room heading for the training grounds, since they had seized the prison it had been his job to see to the training of the psychic element of Levi's troops. Joshua could see the double doors leading outside to the training grounds and quickly put on the stoic mask he was famous for, the metal doors opened with a bang that made some of his trainees jump in surprise and with calculating eyes he took note of who had jumped. "I had hoped to move on to newer and better things today since you were all so eager to point out to me that with only 5 aspects left until you were fully certified, that you were going to cut the crap and give me 110%. That display just now just cost you some revision." He had began his short tirade as he walked across the cement courtyard that comprised his own training grounds, in the harsh winter sunlight we see that the telekinetic wore a pair of black washed jeans with a heather grey turtleneck sweater. A black wool peacoat and loafers completed his look of honed perfection "I'm thinking...mental shielding!"
Joshua grinned at the groans he heard from his 17 students and began to take off his coat, a blast of cold air hit his face making him turn away from it and cast his gaze upwards to the third story balcony. He could make out the shape of the man standing there with his arms crossed across his chest and the equally stoic mask slipped in place, his own eyes twinkled in an emotion he saved solely for that man and then gracefully shifted his attention back to the trainees. "Mental shielding is absolutely pivitol to our survival out on the battlefield, make no mistake that the government wouldn't hesitate to use our own brothers and sisters against us. It's war and to their side there is nothing they wouldn't do to see us defeated and sent to their new prison on Ellis Island..." Joshua was suddenly interrupted by Kevin, one of his students, who had made it his goal in life to show him up and gain the attention of Levi "You mean the prison that your wonderful Grandfather constructed? Wasn't it also you who worked for the company that is currently partnered with the government, and also helped capture some of our people for his sick experiments? You think you're important here, but you're nothing but a sleazy sl..."
His eyes flashed to deepest black for less than a second and with a slight narrowing of his eyes, he forced himself into Kevin's mind. The entire experience lasted no more than 5 seconds and afterwards Kevin lay on the ground gasping for air, his entire nervous system was firing like crazy at the pain he had been subjected to and to him an end would never be in sight "I paid for my sins a long time ago with blood, for it and fire are the great cleansers of our lives. If you take anything from that experience i placed upon you in your mind make it this, i am not your enemy in this war but i will be damned if i let you judge me." Joshua sighed heavily at the younger man and knelt down next to him, with a motion of his hand the First Aide kit flew to his side and with tender ministrations healed his student. "Silly rabbit, now if we're done discussing my fidelity to this cause then let's continue with the revision. Now the first aspect of mental shielding is this..."
* * * * * * * * * * * *
The last of his students had left the field and had headed on to the mess hall with the other trainees, Joshua had told them he would join them shortly and that right now he needed some time alone. In truth he was waiting for the only one he truly had any allegiance to, to come out and make sense of things "Do you think i was too hard on him...on them? There was a time when i was exactly like them and just trying to find my way in the world, granted i lived a privilaged life but i was never truly happy for it. And now i'm angsting like from Vampire cursed with a soul, next thing you know i'm going to fall in love with The Slayer and get sent to hell cuz my evil side won out at some point." Joshua couldn't help but laugh at himself and the look on Levi's face when he turned to face the man, if anything it was i these rare moments they had together that made the telekinetic fall in love with the other man all over again. He had killed for this man and in turn had been shown that the world truly wasn't a cold place, it was in those memories that he asked his question "So what's the what?" He never said it was going to be a groundbreaking question...

Levi walked towards the window hearing the trainer's voice enter the courtyard. He looked down to see Joshua standing in the courtyard with the in-training telekinetics. He folded his arms and smiled, watching Joshua. His methods were harsh, but these kids needed to be prepared. If they weren't ready for the real world they'd be dead.
That is what this whole organization was about. Levi paused thinking about it. Things were moving farther and farther along. He wanted to keep the coalition's goals focused. help those with gifts who would otherwise be left alone in the world, and to defeat those who tried to hurt them. Which at the current moment was looking like the whole world.
Levi moved away from his window after catching Joshua glimpsing up at him. he didn't want the young man to think he was spying on him. Joshua was one of the few people that Levi trusted. Him and his two brothers. No one else.
~~~~~~~
Levi made his way down the stairs, knowing Joshua was almost done with his class. He paused at the door, waiting for the last student to leave. Students paused to look at them as they walked by. Levi was rarely seen out of his room. He should have put some disguise up. He didn't like being gawked at, and kept a cool demeanor as the kids walked by.
He entered the courtyard that Joshua was standing in, now talking to himself. Levi quietly listened to the man. He smirked at the boys comments and smiled when Joshua turned to look at him, his stomach dropping a little bit.
"You think you have an evil side? I mean, you can be a little harsh sometimes, but evil, not at all." Levi grinned, wrapping his fingers in between those of Joshua. His stomach was still feeling tingly as it always did around him. Something about Joshua just made Levi happy. He made the world seem perfect, and not like the awful place that it actually was.
Levi chuckled at his counterparts question. He always had such a professional way of putting things. "Well, rumor has it that the senate is making a motion to have all gifted people not only register there powers, but also wear locating tags. Not sure if they think this is going to help settle the problem." Levi looked at the ground shaking his head. "I hope it's just talk. I mean, they can't expect us to show up at their doorstep to be tagged like dogs. Anyways, how are the newbies doing. They learning quickly."
Levi genuinely was concerned about his new recruits. As cold and distant as he was. As much as he didn't trust them. He still worried about them. They were here for the same reason he was. They wanted justice and freedom. They were on his side, and he couldn't help but worry about the stress they must be enduring. Even if he didn't show it, he did actually care.
Joshua ducked his head at the tenderness behind the words and knew that his fears were wholely unfounded, he could remember the times before he met Levi when his mind would tear his own confidence to shreds and now the simple act of hearing his lover talk to him was enough. It was enough to make him forget about the past "Yeah you say that now, but a lot of those operatives i killed last week sure the hell pissed their pants when they saw me step out of those shadows. Did you know the price on my head is up to $20 million now? I think i'm worth much, much more...don't you think?" His lips turned upwards into his million dollar grin and gripped the hand linked with his tighter, he began walking backwards pulling Levi along with him and lead them to the edge of the courtyard looking out over the bay. Joshua raised his left brow at the look he was being given and gave his own to the other man that simply said 'Yeah i know you're supposed to be the fearless leader, but you don't have to be it all the time. Especially with me.' "I know... was all the telekinetic said in response to the information that Levi just gave him, things were about to escalate.
Joshua had picked up on what the government had been making plans to do from one of the operatives he had killed last week, the man's mind had mental shields in place from a foreign body and they had torn like rice paper. "It's not talk Levi, they plan to implement their 'Resgistration Act' once it's signed into law and the way things are going...the President will do it without a doubt." He stepped closer to his lover and reached up with his left hand to cup the man's cheek, Joshua leaned forward to close the distance between their lips and let everything around them bleed away. They didnt have many opportunities to just be themselves save for the time spent within their room and so he took it upon himself to make time, it was worth it in hs opinion. Joshua broke away from the kiss slowly and kept his arms around Levi's shoulders "They're confusing to me, at first they always look at me like i'm something to be worshiped and then slowly they get all hardcore and want nothing to do with me aside from learning to become stronger. I'm actually really excited about this new batch which includes Kevin, they're grasping the concepts of the lessons at a rate that puts everyone else i trained to shame. At the same time i have to keep putting them in check or else they'd probably think of turning rougue, they've learned that no matter how strong they may think they are there's something out there stronger. Me!" He giggled loudly and finally stepped away from Levi while leaving their hands together, his gaze shifted out to the bay where the government's patrol of destroyers kept a blockade on the island. The former prison and the island it rests on was protected by a high energy shield constructed by one of their men, which could be backed up by Joshua himself if the shield were to fail "They're trying to find a way in again, someone on that flagship isn't as good at keeping secrets as he should, should i have someone do something?
