Dane looked up at her approach, she was determined now, not as shy as in the diner, that was clear to anyone. “Your straight to the point aren’t you? You sent Kuro letters while he was in Alcatraz, remember? Handwriting is a symbol of a person’s personality. Your Q’s, R’s and L’s matched those I glimpsed on his letters. I made the connection.” He looked into her eyes. Standing he brought himself only to her eye level. It was something he did often, without any knowledge as to why, his power detection seemed locked on the man. Any movement of his was known immediately to Daniel. He extended his right hand toward her. “It was very rude of me before, to ask your name and not tell you mine. I am Dr. Daniel Clarke, and I apologise for any problems I may have caused you today. And I also apologise if my habit of eye contact unnerves you”
After he officially met Eli, Dane turned to her company “Hello, My name is Dr. Daniel Clarke, it is nice to meet you” Again he extended his hand in greeting. A single touch from a user could tell Dane all of the persons power, and how strong it could become with his assistance, rather like a detailed report on their ability “It was very nice meeting both of you, But I believe that I have waisted enough of your day thusfar. Oh, and in answer to your earlier question Ms Eli, Yes, I do have an ability. I bid you both farewell” Dane bowed politely to both before turning on the spot and beginning to walk onward. It was obvious to him that the man was a curious individual, it was only a matter of time before the question was asked.

Lantos watched as Eli approached the man. His eyes were dead set on the large man. If he did anything fishy, Lantos wouldn't hesitate. He was ready to take the man out in any means possible. He wouldn't let him hurt Eli. It wasn't going to happen on his watch.
The man seemed to be the opposite of what he had expected though. He shook Eli's hand apologizing, and introducing himself. But something still didn't feel right. Lantos still didn't want to trust this man. Why had Kuro sent him, and not just come back himself to check on everyone. Why hadn't he just come and let them know he was okay. There was no reason to trust this man. Not a single one!
Suddenly, Daniel Clarke was approaching him, making an introduction. Lantos out stretched his arm, shaking the man's hand. He allowed his powers to work a little magic and analyze the man. He was human. He couldn't detect any irregularities. He was made up of Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Phosphorus. Nothing that stood out. Nothing to make him seem untrustworthy. Lantos gave a nod to the man, "I'm Lantos Harrison. Nice to meet you as well."
When Lantos released the man's hand, he turned to leave, giving his farewells. Lantos couldn't just let that happen though. This man knew where Kuro was apparently. It just didn't seem right that Kuro wasn't here in person. They had to find him. They needed to know the truth. "Hold on Doctor! I can't just let you leave." Lantos took a few long strides and stepped in front of the man. "You know way to much for not knowing us. I need to see Kuro. I need to talk to him. So, you are going to tell us where he is, understood?"
Lantos wasn't usually one to be the bossy and pushy type. He usually went with the flow. Allowed other people to make decisions. This was important though. He was going to have to be the tough guy and force this man to do what he needed. Hopefully, it would be easy and the man would just tell him where Kuro was. If not, Lantos would have to make him talk. [/blockquote]

“Bingo” Dane actually smiled this time, it had been a long time since had smiled for real, and this man helped him “ I’m sorry if you got the wrong impression, I did help kuro escape, but I don’t know exactly where he is. Last I saw him we were arguing on a cliff after escaping Alcatraz. He wanted to come see to her himself but I refused to let him. He is a very stubborn man” Dane needent turn around to see Eliana but he did anyway, as a curtesy. “I would have let him come check on you, by god I wouldn’t have dreamed to stop it... if I didn’t know you were here, and that you had a power. I apologise again, I read your letters to kuro, but so did alcatraz’ warden, I couldn’t have the warden follow kuro to more users, so I told him I was coming to check on you. For your own safety. Now I suggest” he turned mack to facing Lantos “The you both get out of here as quickly as you can.”
Dane was ready for anything, as he spoke he weakened Lantos’ power, simply as a safety precaution. It would now cause the man excruciating pain to even cool or heat a single molecule. Dane took out his notepad and turn the “emotional contact[eli]” into “Lantos Harrison”. “Don’t mean to be rude, but i must be off, I have a few more people to find before I head back home to Haven. So if you’ll excuse me...” The pyro was awake, he had managed to burn his way out of the dumpster and was now charging at dane, full flame.
Dane turned at the sound. He held up his hand in a stop motion and the mans flame turned to little more than radiant heat. He then tripped the weakened pyro as he ran past. Dane grinned again “Well that was fun, wasn’t it sir?”

She was surprised by the quick answer. Seeing his hand extended she shook it and nodded. "Um...nice to meet you." She watched him introduce himself to Lantos. Lantos didn't seem to trust him that much, she could tell. As the man left she watched as Lantos stepped in front of the man. Eli took a few steps forward, but didn't say anything and stayed behind the both of them as they spoke. At the words 'you both should get out of here' she frowned and looked alarmed. "Wait..." Before she could follow the man the pyro charged at him. Dane did nothing though, and the pyro's fire weakened and he was easily tripped. Was that Dane's power? Weakening others? Well that was convenient wasn't it? Stepping in front of him she frowned up at him. "What do you mean we have to leave? I was careful in those letters! I've always been careful. For three whole years I've been nothing but cautious and they haven't found me again. I don't even use my real name in those letters. It was just Eli, they couldn't find me with that! Besides...Lantos can't leave. He has college and his family is here...and...they don't know about him anyways..." And she hoped neither of them questioned her about what she had said either. Of all the times to delve into her past, now was not a good time. She bit her lip. Maybe she should just leave. That would be best, but she had been getting settled. She liked it her. Oh damnit...

Lantos listened to the man's warnings, and then watched him as he seemed to disarm the pyro. Something was up with this man. He seemed to have the ability to weaken powers of those around him. Lantos still didn't trust what he was saying. Kuro didn't take orders. Lantos had a serious doubt that this man knew Kuro.
Lantos narrowed his eyes slightly. This man was warning them... or he was threatening them. He wasn't quite sure. Maybe this man had some connection to Kuro. Still, it wasn't right. Kuro wouldn't allow this man to come 'check-up' on his friends and family. Perhaps an impostor who was trying to catch the users Kuro knew. Maybe this man wasn't bad at all and thought he was doing something good.
"Glad that you are concerned for our health, but I believe Eli and I can handle ourselves. We are more then capable at taking care of the situation if someone shows up to take us." Lantos wasn't sure they really were. He had never concerned himself over that. His uncle had made sure he was safe, and it had never been a concern for Lantos. Still he put on a strong and determined face. No one could tell he was even the slightest bit worried. An aura of confidence emitted from the boy.
Lantos took his eyes from Daniel to see how Eli was taking this. He could tell she was worried. He knew she was concerned with getting captured. Lantos wished he could comfort her and make her feel better, but he didn't want to show this man weakness. He needed to stand strong against him. He couldn't let him instill fear into himself or into Eli. He had spent to much of his life in fear. It was time for something different. He wasn't going to take off running. It wasn't in him to be cowardly like that. He put his eyes back on Daniel, waiting as before for something to happen. Maybe something that never would happen. [/blockquote]

At her words Dane felt a strange feeling well within him, one he’d never known before. As his eyes began to water he realised he was experiencing guilt, for the first time. She had been at Alcatraz, she had been subjected to horrendous pain as one of the test subjects. It was Dane’s fault she had to keep moving for the past few years. He mouthed the words ‘Im so sorry’ before managing to regain his composure. “Kuro is a heavy sleeper, I had to drag him into the helicopter for the getaway. I asked the pilot where it was prepped to go, and he said this town. I instructed him to go to another place. During the flight I interrogated him of sorts as to the purpose of the prepared flight. He told me of you, as for how they know, I’m not sure, but they do... from where we landed it’s taken me a month to walk here. I know not where kuro has moved off to”
Dane looked from one to the other, it was obvious they were having trouble believing him. “I can understand I am a hard man to process, my being very up front with my information. And my lack of capability to demonstrate my ability makes me all the more suspicious. I can tell that you can handle yourselves, especially with your power Mr Harrison. Please believe me though, I am not here to harm you in any way.”

After speaking her confidence quickly slipped away. Watching Dane still, she took a few steps back. Was he crying? His eyes looked watery and she could've sworn he had mouth I'm so sorry to her. Before she got the chance to say anything or really give it much thought he had started speaking again. Stepping back next to Lantos she looked to him. At least he seemed confident. Completely confident in fact. He didn't seem concerned in the least for their safety. Though he still seemed to not trust Dane at all. Dane....well she wasn't sure whether to believe him or not. Some of what he said sounded believable, but Lantos knew Kuro much better then she did. If Lantos didn't believe she wasn't sure she should either. Besides....he knew so much it made it hard to even consider trusting him in the least. "I...I don't know what to think...." She sighed and looked to Lantos, trying to figure out what he thought about all of it. Eli was tempted just to ask the man to leave at this point, but she wasn't sure if Lantos had any more questions for him.

Lantos stared at the man. How had he known what is power was? How did he know it Lantos was capable of doing some rather extraordinary feats. Lantos was not to happy to say the least. He barely let anyone in on that secret of his. He was too afraid of the rejection that came with it. It was something Lantos did not like to face.
Lantos didn't say anything to Dane though. Instead, he glanced at Eli who was looking at him. He wasn't sure how to relay the message though. He didn't want to be around this guy anymore. He knew too much. Something wasn't right. Lantos could only think of one way to figure out what was going on. He had to find Kuro. He'd surely be able to tell them if it was wise to trust this man.
Lantos looked back, ready to fathom some lie. He hoped Eli would follow suit, and know where he was going with this. "Well... It was nice to meet you, I guess. We really should be off though. My cousin needs the car. I was gonna give Eli a ride home." [/blockquote]

Dane smiled, it was a lie. An obvious one, but a valiant effort at any rate. Dane decided it was not wise to point out this fact, as they already didn’t trust him. “oh? You two are together?” feigning surprise he tried to calm them down “My apologies, if I had known I wouldn’t have taken so much of your time.” Dane glanced around. Nothing interesting in the area he could use to make an escape… newspapers! That will do. “I’ll let you be on your way then. Good day ma’am, sir” he nodded to each in turn before beginning to move off towards the newspaper dispenser.
“It was obvious that they are nervous around me. I can understand why too. If they stop me I’m going to laugh my head off, last time I tried to leave them they stopped me” Dr. Clarke paid for and retrieved his paper, as he flicked through the it the colour from his face drained. This is not good. Dane called toward the other two "is there anyway i can keep in contact with you?"

Eli was surprised by what Lantos said, but managed not to show it. "Yeah....I really need to get home. My feet are killing me anyways. I've been on them all day because of work."
As Dane left she said good bye and was about to start walking down the street with Lantos. She really just wanted to get out of here. This guy....well she didn't trust him, and at the moment she was perfectly happy with walking away.
At least, she was close until the man spoke again. Looking back to him she sighed. Contact information? That wasn't exactly something she just gave out to people. "I...um....I....well no not really. I move around too much."

Lantos was very pleased the Eli took the hint. Now the two could get out of here and discuss things. It would be much easier without this man here. Who knew what he was really after. Lantos followed behind Eli, keeping his senses on the man in case he tried anything funny. But all he did was ask a simple question. Lantos turned to face him.
Eli was smart a pleasantly declined. Lantos felt he should do the same, but what if this guy was telling the truth? Lantos didn't know what to think of him still. Maybe he did know Kuro. Maybe this wasn't any sort of trap at all. Lanto pulled a piece of paper and jotted down some words.
"There's my email. You need to reach me, you can use that." Lantos walked towards the man holding out the small tattered piece of paper. He knew he could jst give the man his cell number, but he'd rather remain untrackable. If Dane did decide to come after them for any reason, a cell number wouldn't be the wisest thing to give him. At least, with the email, it wasn't an easy trace to the exact location, only where the latest message was sent from.
Lantos curtly nodded, and moved back towards Eli. "Well, we really need to be off. It was very nice to meet you. I wish you the best. Don't get yourself caught. Dangerous world out there now-a-days." With that Lantos turned his back on the man again, and made to leave the odd scene. Now he had a mission. He needed to locate his friend, and figure out what was going on. [/blockquote]

Dane took the piece of paper from Lantos happily. “Thank you, I hope I never need to use it” Dr. Clarke watched as the couple left hand in hand. “ How sweet, I hope they stay safe. Oh CRAP” He turned the body of the unconscious pyro over, such a fall onto the gutter must have knocked him out. Dane began searching his pockets, looking for one thing, finding it he flipped it open and automatically dialled a familiar number.
Crouching in the gutter, phone to his ear, Dane waited impatiently. “ Hello! Miranda! There’s been a change of plans! I need a pick-up, I’m being hunted... You have? Good, please bring one. Ok, see you soon.” Dane hung up and stood by the wall nervously. He could see the couple in the distance and wondered how good his throwing arm was. At this moment a bolt of lightning struck beside him and his assistant materialised within it. Quickly he snatched the necklace from her outstretched arm and threw it full force at Lantos, hoping it would make it. Before he had time to see, Miranda grabbed his hand and they were struck by a bolt of lightning. [END]
