The form of a man staggered into the road side diner sand blew in after his arrival until the door was able to shut itself. He walked past many of the patrons there not like it was packed here but they still had some people who seemed to have stopped in for a warm meal and rest. As he sat down at a raised stool at the bar a small pile of sand began to form beneath him as it found its way off of himself and his clothing. The lady who looked to be the only waitress there asked if he needed anything, and he simply nodded before replying "Water... and the special." His voice dry and raspy. She smiled sweetly and nodded before yelling back to a man who looked to be the cook, and Revi sighed as his hands steadily dug under his cloak and into his jeans grabbing one of the bills at random that he had gotten from the guards so many days ago now it had been a while and he had forgotten how long it had been. As she placed the glass on the counter and following it up he placed the twenty on the counter before he began to eat his meal. He smiled graciously at her "m'Thank you very much." He said with a mouthful of food as she nodded smiling at him before coming back with almost ten in change and he shook his head "No miss you keep it." He said as he steadily ate at his food.

The rather large caravan of black SUV's pulled into the side parking spaces of the roadside diner, their armored doors opened letting the security agents in black suits out and head towards their object. Joshua waited patiently as his door was finally opened letting him out of his "prison", even he thought that this was a bit extreme when it came to security for him...of course his Grandfather didn't share his thoughts. "Thanks Steve!" he said with a small smile, his arms raised above his head as he stretched out his muscles as he looked into the diner noticing the people inside watching them intently. With a sigh he pulled down his dark coloured shades and entered the restaurant with his security detail trailing behind him, the looks and whispers seemed to intensify and it took more than usualy to block all the thoughts aimed directly at him. "Sir? Are you okay?" Steve asked concerned for his charge seeing the boy sway slightly, the nod he got was all he needed to know everything was under control.
"Yeah, you guys fan out or whatever and order stuff at that empty booth nearby...i'm gonna eat at the counter. Far away from the staring." he whispered out the last part as he made his way from the retreating security agents, it had been irritating the whole damn trip to deal with people staring at his "circus". Joshua gave a sigh as he finally sat on the empty stool near a ruggedly handsome man, the waitress who he identified as Alice handed him a glass of iced water and a sweet smile "What can i get for you hun?" she asked him with a slight accent he couldn't place. After ordering the special of he day and an orange juice he sat silently sipping his glas of water, out of the corner of his eye he could see the steady gaze of people around him save for the man next to him. That fact and only for that reason he decided to open up a dialogue "So is the staring a norm for this place or is it just me and my band of merry men?" he said with heavy irritation in his voice.

He slowly sipped at his water eyes slit open trying to not acknowledge what was going on with the people filing in, and then the man sitting next to him, as he dropped his glass to the counter having emptied it his head the man who sat next to him speak. He slowly raised his head to eye level of the one next to him as he then faced him to get a look at him "I wouldn't know.. I try to not acknowledge it much.." He said as he then turned forward once more.
Clearing his throat he looked to Alice again as he he raised his hand up "More water please...." He said giving her a light smile, as he then began to pick at his food slowly eating each morsel savoring it as he ate.

Joshua raised an eyebrow as both eyes widened at the distant reception he seemed to get from the broody guy next to him, with a small sigh he set his shades down upon the counter and blew a stray hand out of his face. Giving a small thanks to Alice as she sat his plate of food before him he clapped his hands together "Itadakimasu!" he said in the traditional japanese custom before eating. It had been instilled in him at a young age to "speak all Allied and Axis powers" by his grandfather, and so at most random times he would slip into one of the languages he knew.
Slowly he picked at his meal and drank his juice, the food was delicious he had to admit yet he couldn't bring himself to enjoy it giving all the stares and whispers he was getting. It also didnt help that Steve kept coming up to his back and hover over him as he ate, the over protectiveness of the agent was kinda charming for a second and then replaced with heavy irritation. "Yeah i know what you mean, it gets pretty annoying with the whole agents in black suits. So what brings you to sunny Nevada home of the........sand."

He cringed lightly as the young man asked him his mind trailing back to the previous weeks events where he had escaped the entire ordeal flashing through his mind like a strobe light flashing the events by, as he bit his lip he shook his head forcing a smile as he turned to face the young man again "I was wanting to travel yeah?" He said as the smile soon faded the pain from taking the lives of those to gain his own freedom sending a sharp pain to his heart.
As he let out a huff he smiled and nodded as he no longer savored the food but was now scarfing it down small pickings off scrambled egg splattering onto his cloak as well as small drops of gravy and biscuit crumbs.

Joshua furrowed his brows noticing the strain the man seemed to be under after his question was asked, if it wasn't for his own personal laws he would have done some investigating...more so he was wondering why the hell he actually cared. His attention once again diverted to the man next to him as he was given a not too detailed explaination "We were on our way to the airport when my stomach started yelling at me to fill it with something good, but i would have waited till we boarded if i knew i'd be stared at like a fish in an aquarium." There was a slight tense atmosphere as the waitress poured him some more orange juice and walked swiftly away to another area of the diner, he knew he could have worded what he said a little better yet he just couldnt care right now.
"Okay let's not talk about the past or the present 'cause i for one am not comfortable with all that, so if you're traveling like you say...where are you headed too? Vegas? Reno....maybe uhhhhhh Utah? You're mormon huh?" he no doubt was getting slightly irritated with his food and pushed the plate away asking for a to go bag, there was a homeless man who would enjoy it more who he saw on the side of this place trying to get out of the sun and wind blown sand. Joshua reached for his juice and sipped it slowly. [/size]

Once his plate was cleared he bowed his head to Alice, as he then fully turned his seat to face the man before him "I am unsure... I was just going to wander the desert as I have for the past week or so... or month... or.. meh thats neither here nor there." He said giving an almost cheery smile he had forgotten how nice it was to have a casual talk with someone. He looked around half glaring at those who had seemed to make his current friend uncomfortable before sighing and spinning back and forth in his chair "So speaking of destinations where are you off too?" Revi asked, as he leaned back becoming more comfortable as he wiped the stray food tid bits from himself.

Joshua finshed the last of his orange juice and handed it to the busboy who had come out to clear both of their plates, he smiled at the guy no more than a few years older than himself as the busboy winked at him. His smiled faultered as his eyes glanced over to the open window leading to the kicthen and the cook eyeing him like the plague "The desert is vast though, and i'm sure there's more than Nevada and Mel's Diner. Heh, look at me intruding on something that's probably very personal to you and making some piss poor judgement...it's more than likely what these people sensed when i walked in. That whole better than you are mentality Grandfather shoved down our throats." The lithe brunette chuckled slightly hiding the resentment he was feeling, his mind supplied many images adding to his already down attitude and gave new meaning to "having issues"
At the man's last question his bodyguard tesned up and prepared to take some action against the guy who he deemed dangerous when Joshua gave him a look that told him to back the fuck off, jade green eyes looked back at the man next to him. "The names Joshua, i...i'm tired of my mind calling you 'the other guy' and so i felt it was name exchange time. I'm originally from San Diego in California, but right now i call New York City my home and more specific i live in the SoHo district. If you're ever in the area you should look me up. I'm listed."

He cleared his throat as he nodded his throat still feeling a bit dry, and he then looked around the diner again pin pointing each of Josh's apparent guards, as he then extended his hand "Name is Revi Balalaika." He said then furrowed his brow as his mind told him that he should have an alias while still in these parts but he then shrugged.
He looked to Alice smiling "Hey Alice any way we can get two shots of your finest, so that I can mentally lock in Josh for future occurance?" He called to her laughing a bit to himself feeling enjoyment that he made a friend.

Joshua giggled outloud for the first time since entering this place, the joy he felt in the presence of this guy outweighed the feeling of unease he felt around him from the people watching their conversation and the guards waiting for Revi to do something. "Well Revi, who am i to turn down a free shot of....whatever they serve here. As for my last name since you so kindly gave you mine is MacArthur, Joshua David MacArthur who lives in SoHo." he kindly thanked Alice as she set down the two shots which he promptly paid for himself waving aside Revi's insistance to pay for them or atleast his own. "When it comes to drinks i like to pay for my own and anyone elses, and besides i'd like to repay you for being so kind to me. Most people tend to recognize me at first glance from my work with my Grandfather or thw simple fact that i'm a regular club goer. It's not very often that a handsome man as yourself is so kind to someone like me without having an alterior motive."
His slender hands reached for the two shot glasses and handed Revi's over to the man, with a wide grin that lit his face up "Here's to new friendship and Nevada...the desert state. And hopefully your travels make their way east to New York." Joshua raised his glass waiting for Revi to make his toast and finally clink them together.

He just simply nodded, as he tapped his glass against Josh's before he downed it back and then slammed it down smiling widly from it "Ah Good stuff!" He huffed out as he then looked over to one of Josh's escorts and raised an eyebrow "He seems to have a problem with me I think." Revi said confused he knew these kinds of gazes he had gotten them all the time over the past couple years of his imprisonment.
He bit his lip as he looked back to Josh and nodded "Sorry to sound rude, but who is your grandfather.. you must understand I have been very disconnected from the world past couple years." He said looking confused as he tried to think of someone named macarthur that would stick out in his past.

Joshua smiled slightly and slammed the drink down his throat, the familiar burn of alcohol as it slid down his throat cheered him up warming his bones to their core. He couldn't help but notice the anxious look he was getting from his guards as they stared on at their charge and Revi waiting for the other man to attack "Don't mind them, they worry too much thinking every person i meet is going to abduct me or try something on my life. In answering your other question and simply put my Grandfather is the owner and CEO of Macarthur Enterprises, the global entity known for being the leaders of genetic research and programs involving human DNA. He's a ruthless bastard and yet cares enough for my safety to send 15 guys 10 of which are stationed outside this diner."
If Revi sense any bitterness in his description of his grandfather he paid no heed to it, to him there was nothng better than having little to do with his grandfather...only on occassion when he was needed to travel to different corporate sites would he have to talk to the old man. His condo in New York was on the other side of the country from him for crying outloud "I'm a spoiled rich kid whose parents used him like a trophy until they died in a fiery plane crash, i drink a lot when i go to clubs but surprisingly i don't sleep around and remain a virgin." He motioned for the his guards to exit the diner and made to pay for their check only, his time now would be focused on Revi and would only end when he had really leave.

He clenched his teeth as his hands and arms went hidden back under his cloak hands steadily running over both his arms as his eyes slowly closed memories of all the "tests" that they did on him comming back, but his sighed as he nodded knowning that this must not have been Josh's fault, but he also knew of something else "Josh.... what kind of DNA, and where would your grandfather be located?" He asked his voice heavy, stern, and almost commanding.
He was not a man of revenge but he had lost a good portion of his life to imprisonment for something he assumed was along the lines of what he thought Josh's grandfather's business was in.

Joshua could feel the swell of thoughts just lashing outwards from Revi and pushed up his walls protecting him from being overrun by memories he may not want, his hands gripped the counter will his knuckled bled white. His control over powered Revi's thoughts and kept himself safe and sane "Ummmm, genetic mutations. It's his belief that with enough research into the field that his company can manipulate the DNA sequence of a person giving them their desired results. He says with the help i'm doing for him that things like Down, Turner, and Klinefelter's Syndromes would be eliminated...just think of all the good we can do." It was obvious to anyone who knew what to look for that Joshua was hesitant to truly trust his Grandfather was doing good with the research and lived in his own denial, all it would take for him to realize what was actually happening was one well placed home truth.
He shrugged his shoulders at the look he was getting from Revi and knew with no uncertainty that he didnt buy Joshua's explaination "You know on the other side of that blasted 'coin' there's the possibility of genetic manipulation to force things that some say should not be...powers you might say. I'm not crazy if that's what you're thinking, it's very possible to tweak the sequence in a person's DNA to produce certain results like that though it goes against morality." Joshua pulled out his wallet and paid for his meal, the guards outside were getting a little antsy and all he needed was for his Grandfather to be called and send in the frickin military yet he couldn't care at the moment...not when he actually was looking forward to talking to someone. Someone he wasn't trying to seduce.

He readied to speak as he felt heat swell into him anger taking him suddenly, bu he bit his lip as his entire body tensed he holding back any outburst that may have been on the verge of coming out. He then sighed as he closed his eyes and nodded, as he popped off of his chair, and hands steadily flipped his cloak's hood up shadowing his face once more "Well Josh I am sure we shall meet again, but I must start walking or else I will wind up lost later then sooner." He said laughing lightly as he walked away, and for the door.
